The bill requires that the pamphlet be written in plain language and made available in English and the six most common non-English languages spoken by individuals with limited English proficiency in New York State.
The bill also requires that licensed practitioners make the pamphlet available to their patients, creating a direct pathway between this public health resource and the individuals it is designed to serve.
