Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) that cause symptoms including abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue, in addition to affecting other body parts such as the eyes, skin, and joints. Though chronic, these conditions are manageable with treatments including medication, diet, and sometimes surgery, but there is no cure.
